LA SERENISSIMA

LA SERENISSIMA

From an interview with
” Venezia 1600 ”

“The Serenissima”. Conceived and
built with traditional techniques and enriched with details
architectural, historical and artistic typical of Venice, “La Serenissima”
is the homage I wanted to make to celebrate the 1600th anniversary of Venice.
It’s a 15” acoustic-archtop guitar which took 300 hours to build.
Precious woods such as antique flamed poplar, ebony and maple, mother-of-pearl inlays (by M.° MassimoDel Col) to reproduce the decorations of Palazzo Ducale and an extraordinary Lion of San Marco on the back.
The ”ferro” of the gondola inlaid on the ebony of the string retainer is a tribute to main boat of Venice but also to my grandfather, a gondolier.
“Lutherie is an art that is being lost and my commitment now is to
bring it back to Venice, perhaps opening an International School in the future of classical and modern lutherie.
I paid homage to the
birth of Venice with what I can do: a guitar, which represents all my passion and which has obviously been called ” La Serenissima ”.
On display at ”la Liuteria” in Calle del mondo novo in Venice.
